Cycling BC’s membership fees for 2023

Author: Cross on The Rock

Vote before midnight Dec 11th

On the evening of Tuesday Dec 6th Cycling BC held a town hall zoom meeting to discuss proposed increases to membership fees for 2023. The reasoning behind these increases are to cover increased costs. The largest one increase, as stated by Cycling BC, is insurance. Cost of insurance has gone from approximately $35 per rider to $50. A $15 dollar increase. The Proposed increase to the Cycling for Alll membership is $37. The other $22 increase is to cover increases in Cycling BCs operational expenses.

Cycling for All is the minimum membership level required to participate in the majority of our club events: Gravel rides, Monday night rides, Spring Challenge and a couple of other events the board has been cooking up. If a member is interested in racing the fees climb from there.

In addition to being insured to join us on club rides, the non optional 24/7 insurance provides up to $5000 in coverage for accidents / injury. Additionally up to $10 million in liability insurance for damage you might cause to a third party during a cycling BC event.

Cycling BC members, currently required if you are a MIVA member, are being asked to vote on the proposed fee increases before midnight this Sunday Dec 11th. A youtube video is available of the Dec 6th town hall meeting where a lot of great questions and information requests were asked of Cycling BC.

We strongly recommend that everyone watch the video before casting your vote.
